Review: The best of the Scotts lawn spreaders - This review is for the Rotary Spreader. Having previously owned both the Drop Spreader and the Easy Spreader, I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur of these things. The Rotary Spreader is the easiest and quickest to use. Because it sprays the granules out over a large area, you don't have to be quite as precise as with the other two spreaders. The product came pre-assembled, so you are ready to go in no time. It comes with simple instructions with pictures, explaining exactly how to get the best outcome for your lawn with this device. The broadcast of the spreader (how far it sprays to the sides) is about 2 metres if you walk with a quick pace. Because of this, it is suitable for medium to large sized gardens. I find this Rotary Spreader more forgiving than the other two spreaders to use. No matter how closely I followed the instructions, I always ended up with scorched grass when I used the Drop Spreader and the Easy Spreader. Not so with the Rotary Spreader. Scotts lawn fertilizers often contain ferrous sulfate (moss killer) which is highly corrosive to metals, so after each use, give your spreader a good hose down, and then spray WD-40 onto the metal parts to prevent corrosion and to extend its life.

**Q: where is the calibration setting on this spreader - i can see no numbers or markings - i need 35g per m2 setting ... thank you**
A: There are numbers on the green part of the handle but for the money I would not expect high accuracy. I loaded a kilogramme into the hopper and then measured the area covered. The width covered would not change (you have to measure that once)  so you only have to measure the distance.  It took a couple of kilos to get it right but once set it is there for life. From memory I arrived at a setting of 28 for 35g/m2. Make sure you wash out the machine (including the wheels) afterwards. Dead easy and quick to use.

**Q: Can you only use evergreen and scoots products in this speader ? Or can you use any products in this speader?**
A: Any product provided it is small granules, day 2-3mm. There is a hand control to limit the amount distributed. Normal pellets for garden fertiliser would also work.  Tip, empty every time you use because if it is damp the pellets can solidify and screw it up. Enjoy.

A: Drop seeder for grass seed rotary for feeding.

**Q: Can I use this spreader with a1 ultimate slow release fertiliser**
A: Should be possible if particle size compatible. A

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good distribution but corrosion/rust

Much better distribution than a drop spreader, but avoid using with moist grass. After 5 years of seasonal use the axel seized with rust due to corrosion and the wheel has broken off. Time for a replacement.
