I guess I'll have to buy a whole new pump to replace it as it seems impossible to find just the adapter. **Q: Do these pumps come apart for cleaning?** A: Yes you have 2 parts that come off and that you can clean around. When I clean the fountain I soak the parts in a vinegar and water bath because we have a high mineral content. I soak the pump along with the rest of the fountain and then rinse well with cold water to clear out all of the vinegar. I also use a small bottle brush to get hard to reach areas. **Q: Is this the same pump as the premier pet 60 ox fountain?** A: No it isn't. They appear to be very similar, but the Premier fountain's pump is a bit sleeker, with more rounded edges than the iPettie fountain's pump. (This matters because rounded edges are easier to clean, and believe me, these pumps are a time-consuming and unpleasantly gunky beast to clean thoroughly.) It appears that the Premier pump has at least one advantage over the iPettie pump; the water flow can be set to Low or High at an easy-to-reach place inside the pump. Otherwise, aside from cosmetic differences, they appear to function very much the same. I've had my iPettie fountain for 3 years and it does a good job at providing clean water for my pets. It isn't particularly easy to to maintain, and replacement filters and pumps aren't cheap. In my opinion the Premiere pump is better than the iPettie one. The Premiere fountain has some design advantages too - it is easier to connect the power and the filters are in a special compartment, so both filters are easier to check and change. I have found that several brands use the pump that is used in the iPettie fountain.
