## Overview

Terraforming Mars: Hellas & Elysium Expansion adds two immersive new maps featuring Mars' South Pole and equatorial lowlands, introducing unique milestones and awards. ## Description

Terraforming Mars: Hellas & Elysium, the first expansion for the 2016 smash-hit Terraforming Mars, consists of a double-sided game board representing two new areas of Mars: Hellas, which includes Mars' South Polar region; Elysium, which is on the opposite side of Mars' Equator. Each of these maps consists of new sets of milestones and awards with relevance for that particular map. As examples, place Three tiles around the South pole to be a polar Explorer, or race to have the most estates beside water on Elysium!.

Review: Two new maps & some new ways to win, without added complexity. Must-buy expansion! - This double-sided expansion board is a must for anyone who enjoys Terraforming Mars. It provides TWO new maps to study as well as some new ways to win, without any increased difficulty from the base game. I'm very happy to say that this board is better quality (read: FLAT) than the original game, and in spite of a thin plastic shipping bag, it arrived in perfect condition. Next day delivery.
Review: If you are a huge fan of Terraforming Mars then this is a must have. - This expansion consists entirely of another game board to add to your base game of Terraforming Mars. No new cards, no extra pieces and yet the board adds so much strategic depth to the game and changes up how you play just enough to make it exciting. The board is dual sided with 2 different sides of mars with different water placement and resource placement spots. Also each side has a different batch of milestones and awards that can be won. That’s……….pretty much all that can be said about this. That’s all there is too it. If you are a huge fan of Terraforming Mars then this is a must have. It really opens up the replayabilty for the game. Now whenever my wife and I play we randomly choose 1 of the 3 boards (base game and this dual sided one). The awards and milestones will change the way we play every time.

## Features

- Two new areas, and many new ways to win
- Hellas, the southern wild, includes Mars' south pole and the enormous seven-hex Hellas
- Elysium takes players almost to the opposite side of Mars' equator, with vast lowlands for oceans
- An expansion for Terraforming Mars

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this just a new double-sided game board or will there be any new cards?**
A: Just onlya new double sided board. No new cards.

**Q: Does this expansion include any new cards?**
A: No

**Q: I need replacement pieces for terraforming mars game. specifically the money cubes.**
A: It looks like the fryxgames.se website is sold out of them as of this writing, but if you google "replacement terraforming mars cubes" you'll find several options from 3rd parties and people on things like etsy, and metal cube upgrades as well if you were willing to shell out a bit more cash. Hope that helps.

**Q: I have the base game but do not have additional tiles yo place on the board? What pieces do you. Eed and where do you get them?**
A: The expansion Hellas & Elysium is only 2 extra maps that you can use. When you use one of these 2 maps you do not use the original map in the base game (so there are no extra tiles needed, other than what was provided in the base game)

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Terraforming Mars alternate game boards
*by D***J on January 7, 2020*

Didn't know what to expect from this game add on for Terraforming Mars and was surprised that it was just an alternate game board. Initially I was a touch disappointed, but we played with the new game boards several times and we really like it. Such an interestingly subtle add on that changes the game strategy and keeps the game fun. I consider this an excellent value because it greatly improved replayability of Terraforming Mars.
