They're certainly not the most substantial brushes I've ever used, however, they're cheap enough that I don't feel bad when they wear out after a few uses. If you're brushing things with sharp edges (like unsanded wood), it will tear right through the foam, so be sure to be gentle and take your time with them. Also make sure to wash them out thoroughly immediately after use as whatever is left in the foam brush will harden up and be quite difficult to use again. They lasted as long as my prior store bought versions, but with these I get more brushes at a cheaper price. For those reviews that say they flake off, all foam brushes I've used start to flake off foam after using about an hour or two and these are no exception.
