Can I remove the webbing and replace it with my own 1" wide webbing?** A: I'm 850 miles away from mine but I think I remember them being molded, so I think not-You might try just forcing your webbing through a piece of garden hose, doubling the contact point and sending a hot nail through both pieces for the screw-good luck! **Q: Will they fit and support Ocean Kayak Big Game?** A: If yours has web-strap handles on it now then they should be a "mostly" direct replacement. The screw/rivet locations need to be drilled out by placing the old handles over the replacements to mark location. Otherwise, they are the same design and should support the kayak as the originals did. I just replaced my torn handles on my OK Prowler 13 with these and they fit perfectly. It appears, from pictures of the original Big Game, the same handles were used across the product line so it should fit similarly. **Q: How much weight can one handle withstand?** A: I installed them on my sit inside wilderness system kayaks with reinforce stainless steel plates inside since I could reach that far just to help with weight. The kayaks weighs between 45 to 60lbs ... they have held up so far. Never had an issue.... you can also use washers then put the nut on after to help support weight. If your going to use these on a sit on top I would recommend washers or a plate if you can reach the area as they are a lot heavier. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect addition to my kayak. Good and strurdy.perfect. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent replacement handles for Ocean Kayak Drifter *by K***K on May 7, 2025* Excellent replacement side handles for my elderly Ocean Kayak Drifter (Gen 1). The hole spacing on the end caps matches exactly, and the overall length is about 1/2" longer than the originals, which provides a bit more hand clearance. Quality appears to be at least as good, if not better, than the OEM handles. They came with screws and washers, which may be suitable for some applications, but not for installation on a kayak. Instead, use 3/16" x 1" tri-fold rivets, which fit the OEM holes in the hull, with a bit of silicone under the caps.
