They have a small rubber o-ring to provide tension to secure them, and so far I haven't had one fall out but I guess it's a possibility. I do wish the outer rim was knurled instead of smooth, but you can wrap a rubber band around the perimeter to get a better grip. There are better ones made out of metal but you will pay more.
