Otherwise it will be detected in Alexa but you cannot use it for anything. **Q: do these things work with ZHA (in home assistant) or do i need zigbee2mqtt?** A: According to my Home Assistant friend the aqara devices work in Home assistant, but if you do use Home Assistant you can't use the Aqara App also. Only one or the other not both together.
