Meaning your less likely to scrape on some of those driveways with harsh transitions... Works great on a Ford focus.... **Q: Is the hitch made from a hollow tube, Or is it made of a solid piece of steel with no air gap in the center?** A: This seems to be solid steel. 1-1/4 inch drawbars are typically solid in order to have enough strength for the stresses endured. This design is commonly used in Europe, and they prefer trailers to buying bigger vehicles.
