Decided to give it a try after reading tons of not so great reviews, and videos; seems there are alot of Festool guys out there. For a difference of $800 I'm happy to say I like it. The stiff spring isn't a issue (maybe they corrected that?) The 'fat' alignment marks aren't great but are work able. The fence not 90 degrees? mine is... I think this is one of those tools where you need to get familiar with in order to get good results. Watch the videos, learn what to look for and correct and get to joining wood! Hope this review helps, as I'm a true believer in reading these. The reason for four instead of five stars is the alingment marks. Where do I find additional drill bits if needed?** A: It comes with 1/4" drill bit. I don't know where to buy different sizes, I would like to get a 3/8". Perhaps Amazon. This is a very solid unit. **Q: Can it do single dowels and other sizes?** A: I guess you could just remove 1 bit to use as a single doweler. I believe there are other bit size(s) available.
