So instead of returning it, I used double-sided tape to secure the knob, the rubber bushing and to take up the empty space so when I tightened it, there was no movement. I use it every day and so far, it's held up - no more slipping (knock on wood). The only thing I'd advise is that you do not lotion your hands before using it. Your hands will slip off of the knob and you risk losing control of your vehicle. Lastly, these knobs may be illegal in some states for commercial vehicles. Do the research.
