Let's say that you did an alignment with this tool and you're running 33s. If you change your tire size to 37s the dimensions between the front and rear of your tires would change. Instead of it being a 1/16 or 1/8 difference it would be approximately 1/4" difference. My local alignment shop uses a hunter alignment machine. These machines would set a jeep wrangler jk toe to 20 degrees. I have 295 70r18 which is measured to 33 1/4". I had my alignment done but it was still drifting left and right. I measured the difference between the front and rear of the tire and it was 1/4" difference. I went back to the alignment shop and had to technician change the alignment to 15 degrees. I measured it myself and it was 1/8" difference between the front and rear. Now I can drive at 95 miles per hour YES 95 miles per hour with one hand and it goes straight. Bottom line is installing larger or smaller tires change the dimensions between the front and rear of your tires. **Q: What is the length of this product need to make sure it clears my truck** A: The length of the alignment tools is approximately 18-22 inches. It has been several months since I used them. I used them to re-align my Jeep JK front end. I think they work great. Must take into consideration undercarriage obstructions on other vehicles. Other mechanics have advised me to drill a hole near the corner outside edge of the plate to suspend a string on a weight to hang below those obstructions and measure at the string. My front tires were feathering so I bought the toe alignment bars for my ZJ with dana 30 axle. I had my alignment done in 3 minutes in my driveway, and avoided the headache and unreliability of a shop. The measurememnt precision is absolute. One could easily adjust toe to any setting with fractions of degree accuracy. The tool was obviously engineered specifically for jeeps, the bar length was just the right length to clear the control arms but not too long where it interfered with body or other parts. PS I put the floor jack on the middle of the axle to jack up the front, and the tool fits perfectly.If you offroad or work on jeeps this is a must have tool. My jeep gets a lot of abuse so I replace the front end and ball joints every few years to stop death wobble. While the tool is a tad expensive, it was $50 less than a shop alignment and so quick and easy. I would have liked stainless steel, but I just keep a light coating of WD-40 on them. They are sturdy but not too heavy. I had to use spacers with my lug nights to get them tight against the brake rotor. I followed the instructions and adjusted to within 1 mm. The jeep rides great now, so I'm a believer.
