It is pricey, but in my experience, if I didn't get gel or that other really expensive manicure with the powder, my nail polish from a professional manicure would be off within one or two days. Sometimes even when I do get the gel, it comes off in one or two days. But a recent move to a big city and enrollment in grad school made 'professional' manicures a thing of the past. This stuff costs cheaper than a manicure and you can use it multiple times and it keeps my polish on for AT LEAST a few days. Which might not sound like a lot, but if I do my nails without it, they'll start chipping in the shower that night. Also, it dries super fast, which I appreciate because I always choose to do my nails at the worst times when I have a small window until some such event.
