It not only helps protect against water but it also has dust shields over the speakers, silent switch, camera lens, and charging port. It allows for Qi Charging. Has a built in full protection cover for all the camera lenses. Cover doesn’t affect picture/video quality. Touch screen works seamless with the front cover. Raised outer edges that are robust and add to fall protection. Also my magnetic phone holder simply wont work with this case on. Lastly the main issue with this is the bottom area has plastic where the speakers and mic are supposed to be so noone could hear me and my speakers were veg low.
