What is a kobun? **Q: If I were to wrap a radiator pipe with this cord will it handle the heat well over time? Or it could possibly melt?** A: Best to replace the hose. This could work short term ( the hose is only handling boiling point fluid, BUT the heat from the engine could over time harm the cord.........it is nylon-based and is made to melt in open flame. **Q: I cannot find normal shoelaces long enough for thigh high boots, could this work as shoelaces or would the ends fray too much??** A: Works perfect for boot laces. Cut to length you need. I think it works best to strip out all the core fibers…they’ll pull out easily leaving just the nylon sheath. This makes tying the laces much easier later on. Once you have the the core pulled out of the ends have frayed a bit trim the ends clean once more and then take a match or lighter and quickly burn/melt the ends to prevent further fraying. ## Frequently Bought Together - WEREWOLVES 650lb Paracord/Parachute Cord - 9 Strand Paracord Rope - 100', 200' Spools of Parachute Cord, Type III Paracord for Camping, Survival - Paracord Planet Paracord (50+ Colors) - 1,000 Foot spools - 250 Foot spools - 100 feet Hank - TECEUM Heavy Duty Rope 1000 – 1000ft / 200ft / 100ft / 50ft – 40+ Colors – Utility Rope for Survival & Camping Gear – Nylon String, Camping Rope, para Cord, Utility Nylon Rope, Tent Cord --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.ni/products/320746903-650lb-paracord-parachute-cord-9-strand-paracord-rope-100-200](https://www.desertcart.ni/products/320746903-650lb-paracord-parachute-cord-9-strand-paracord-rope-100-200) --- *Product available on Desertcart Nicaragua* *Store origin: NI* *Last updated: 2026-10-17*
