**Q: How wide/long can these reach?**
A: For me i guess it just depends on application and where you want it to reach.  I would say if you did it right and it held i would prob say 8 in

A: Hello Rick, sorry I'm not sure if it will work. It worked fine on my Dodge ram truck, but it needs of lot of room to collapse the spring. Not sure if you have room on your Thunderbird. Good luck

This seems like a pretty decent quality tool. I've had mine for several months. Used it a few times. Sometimes you need a compressor which fits in the center of a spring. The tool itself seems to be made well and stout. I personally haven't had any issues with mine. Nice to have around the shop. If you need a tool like this it's a good value.
