I will admit to some 'pilot error' putting it together for first use, I was trying to make it much harder than it needed to be (instructions were a bit unclear to me until I understood - then I felt dumb.. is how it goes..). I like that for lighter items (cookies) it is fully open on 3 sides - but if doing heavier items you have the option of support in the front as well. Folds down into less space than my other racks, yet uses less counterspace when in use.
