It doesn't get dirty so quickly like the paper filters. Additionally, the cotton allows more air to flow providing greater efficiency in the throttle body and ultimately the ignition. You should also consider the fact that you will not have to buy any more air filters. This one is it. I love K&N filters on all my vehicles. I installed a K&N complete cold air intake system on my 2005 Chevy Silverado with the 5.3L engine and LOVE it. One other very important point to consider is improved gas mileage. We enjoy increased gas mileage on both our 2011 Honda Accord and 2005 Chevy Silverado.
