Works really well and I used paint sponges and cotton pads for application. When I bought it, I didn't realize that I would also need to buy a fixative spray so it wouldn't go everywhere so if it's your first time with pan pastel I recommend buying that as well! When I bought it I didn't realize that it would be sparkly as it's hard to tell from the photos so be aware of that!
