They last me several years though the quality of Birkenstock is amazing very comfortable and I think good for your feet. My arches get supported and that’s really important. Review: Great for high instep, high arch, and plantar fasciitis! - I have chronic plantar fasciitis, and this is my go-to-shoe. I wear these every waking hour of the day. They have the best arch support I've ever found, and they're not even terribly ugly (in my opinion.) I also have a very high instep, and this style accommodates that well. Even on days when my feet are swollen I can get these on. Plus, if they are too small to accommodate your instep, all you need is a leather punch to make a few more holes for the buckle.
