The disk-shaped one is easy to get stuck in the liquid so the pointed direction is wrong. I keep it on my keys as an EDC with a little torch and folding knife. It's been banging around them and keys in my pocket for a month now and is perfectly fine. Great quality and a very reasonable price. I use it as a rough guide back to work when I get a bit distracted in my local nature reserve on my lunch break. And the ball nature of it means no northern/southern hemisphere issues.
