I've never worn sandals, but I doubt sandals could keep the insoles in place properly-- they could easily slide around, in my opinion. The insoles should fit firmly against the sides and heels of footwear. By the way, I like these insoles a lot-- very good support. **Q: Can you wear them with sandals?** A: It’s possible to wear them with sandals as long as the back is closed & not a strap. Otherwise, they might work their way out the back as you walk. **Q: How thick are the inserts at the heel?** A: Not much. A couple of millimeters. They have a dip at the heel.
