## Description

Review: Silent fast computer - This device is heavier than I expected for an aluminum enclosure. It works great, seems well-designed and well-made. The AMD GX-424CC is an up-to-25W quad "Puma" core 64-bit x86 SOC APU with a single memory channel and integrated Radeon R5E graphics. The default fitlet BIOS sets the maximum APU power at 25W but you can adjust it down if you want to run cooler (and if slower max speed is OK for your use). I installed a single 8GB DDR3L 1866MT/s DIMM and a 60GB mSATA SSD. There is a second DIMM slot in the enclosure, although with 2 DIMMs installed I believe the maximum speed drops to 1600MT/s. I removed the wireless card as the two Intel gigabit ethernet ports provided all the networking I needed. I installed Fedora linux on this and it has been working quickly and silently for me for a month with no problems. Two suggestions to the fitlet folks for future improvements: 1) It would be nice if there were holes/slits in the enclosure to allow mounting it on a couple of screws in a vertical surface, like many small network hubs have. 2) Since the old memtest86+ (that I used to boot to from grub for memory testing) will not run from a UEFI-based system, it would be handy if the UEFI itself had a memory exercising/testing program available.
Review: I heartily recommend this computer! - Happy to have received my Fitlet-T within the specified time-frame. It's really sturdy and seems really well-made. I also received kind info messages from Compulab to let me know if I needed any further info or help. One of the most important things I noticed: absolute silence. It's really, really wonderful to be on the computer and not hear fan-noise or any noise whatsoever coming from the computer. In fact, its noiselessness allows me to hear a buzzing from the speaker/sub-woofer set I bought. I might have to change the speaker set now to get complete silence. But that is of course not the Fitlet-T's fault. Another silly (but for me important) thing is that I like the fact that this computer is made in the same country (and I assume general place) where it is designed. But I'm strange when it comes to that, so it might not matter to you. Another thing that also influenced me: Compulab seem really serious about making well-made computers. Had a little trouble setting up my Wi-fi, but that had nothing to do with the Fitlet-T itself, and everything to do with my ignorance on how to set up a connection in the first place. Installing the ram sticks and the m-sata drive was as easy as anything, and I'm inexperienced when it comes to doing that, so was naturally happy about that. Anyway, I heartily recommend this computer!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great build quality and clever design
*by S***T on April 9, 2017*

This computer has superb build quality - in no way does it feel "cheap." It was also fairly easy to install the mSATA SSD and ram. If you do choose to install a 2.5" SSD, the drive is cleverly mounted on the door, and upon sliding the door in place your drive connects to the SATA port. To connect via serial, you will need the included mini-serial cable, a null modem adapter, and a USB to serial adapter. This worked for me after installing OpenBSD 6.0.
