With today’s global supply chain, many electronic components have a worldwide supply base and cannot be guaranteed to be of 100% USA content. The Fisher F-Pulse detects all metals including cobalt and titanium. **Q: how many inches above the soil is the metal detector able 2 pick up** A: When set up and used properly, the F-PULSE can easily detect coin-sized targets at depths of 3 to 4 inches below or above the soil. **Q: Does it have the latest software upgrade?** A: They should have stood behind the first version and recalled them as they were lemmons. Now they are tuned down and false less but they also lost detection depth. They will all also will leak through the light port as they used a un servacable o-ring instead of molding the clear plastic for the light in. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐ 1 day to late to get a refund/ replacement *by G***N on 2 September 2024* Stopped working after 1 month ### ⭐⭐ Has various problems *by J***N on 27 February 2024* At first seemed great and could pick things up at larger distances than other pinpointers. Unfortunately it has a variety of problems (we had 2 both the same).1. It maxes out at about 1 inch from the end so anything within 0 to 1 inch sounds the same so you don't know where it is within this area. Not good when everything is covered in sticky mud!2. It false beeps a lot on beach shingle as you move it around. Ground balancing on the ground and switching it off and on when held on the ground makes no difference! It is pretty frustrating using it on the beach or any other shingle.3. It is blind to some types of silver paper!Other cheap pinpointers don't have this trouble.They went back. The GP Pointers we have aren't as sensitive but don't have any of these problems! ### ⭐ Leaked after 6 months use *by L***Y on 9 December 2021* Very sensitive pinpointer, excellent while it worked.
