Review: Genuinely phenomenal for travel & excellent for everyday use - I think this is an amazing product! I purchased this 18 months ago and have used it everyday since. I only use it at night. It does exactly as it should, better than name brand versions, has excellent battery power, is extremely compact and highly efficient in design for everyday as well as travel use. COMPARISON TO OTHERS—-First off, over the years, I have owned MANY water flossers including multiple full-size standing waterpiks of various models, some at the same time and some as replacements. I’ve owned the battery operated name-brand waterpik to other off-brand travel versions. This works FAR better than the battery powered name brand waterpik and honestly, very similarly to my full-size waterpik models. It was worlds better than any other off-brand version in both power and compact travel design. I currently own a full-size name brand waterpik and I never use it anymore because this travel version works just as well and is just SO much easier to use and keep clean. TRAVEL—-In terms of the actual travel aspect, it’s EXCELLENT! I have yet to find anything that packs as small as this does while having everything you need sanitarily self-contained (except for the charger). I owned another version that didn’t fit in itself and had a far smaller water reservoir. It was a huge pain. This is extremely compact, the device fits into the water reservoir, twists shut, and also holds the tip in an enclosed part of the device so it stays clean. All parts are contained and have silicone flip-covers so nothing is exposed. The “hose” is rigid stainless steel so it can retract inside the device. The engineering and design behind this device is pure genius. I’m not too concerned about not having the charger packed within it bc it uses a standard usb-c and I always pack one of those cords with my electronics anyway. POWER/EFFECTIVENESS—-This is FAR better than the battery operated WP travel version and just about as good as full size versions. Over the years, I have learned that the effectiveness of a water flosser in cleaning food from teeth has just as much to do with the amount of water it can hold as it does with the actual power and pulsation of the device. This device has a sufficiently large water reservoir, surprisingly large for a travel item, such that I do not ever find the need to have to refill to get a full clean (which I have had to do with many other travel versions). It also pulses at a high speed, just as high as a waterpik, so that it is comfortable on your gums. Others I have used pulse in a manner where you can feel the pulsations. This is very ineffective and can be painful. This pulses so quickly that it feels like a stream even though it is not. The pulsation is an important key to an effective water flosser. If it does not pulse, it doesn’t clean as well. At the highest setting, it is about a medium setting of the full size WP and this is plenty for my purposes. If you need a higher setting, this might not work for you. CONS—- There aren’t many cons for me but as mentioned, (1) it doesn’t get as high in settings as a full-size WP but it is plenty powerful and definitely the best in terms of power-to-size ratio. (2) The hose is rigid so when the water gets low, you can’t really tilt it or it won’t pick up the water. The rigidity is the key to allowing it to pack right since it can retract so I don’t really think it’s a con. (3) it’s not the best at letting you know when the battery is low. I had a different (much worse) travel flosser that would start green, then turn purple as the battery runs low, then turn red when it was critically low. It did something similar as it charges so you know when it completed charging. This device changes to a red color when low on battery but by the time it does this, you’re getting pretty weak flossing power so it’s not telling you anything you didn’t already know. It also blinks as it charges but otherwise doesn’t let you know when it’s complete. It could be a tad better in this respect but these are just nit-picking things. I otherwise love this device and don’t care much about these things. RECAP—- Don’t hesitate or worry. This is an awesome device. (1) This has a larger water capacity (I can do all teeth on one fill at high power), (2) is battery operated and the battery lasts a long time (with everyday use, I charge about once a month), (3) it packs very compactly in a smart way, (4) it comes with a good amount of attachments, and (5) it is cheaper and better than the name brand or even other inferior models. FYI, mine did NOT come with a pouch or carry case though some pictures may show it and I didn’t get anything for this review.
Review: Nice supplement to the full-size waterpik I have at home. - I get bits and pieces stuck in my gums all the time as I suppose I have gaps that are very accommodating. So even more than flossing, I've made water flossing a regular part of my routine. When I have chunks of food stuck in my gums for extended periods of time, the gums get sore and flossing does not do enough. [one does not replace the other though] Problem is when I travel I don't bring my "full-size" waterpik with me... because that's absurd. So being away for an extended period of time, I've run into times where I've needed to use the pick end of a disposable sword flosser to stab the food through to the other side. Also kind of absurd. Enter the portable option. Honestly, I didn't even know these existed before I thought I should look for one. After looking at quite a few reviews, I decided to go for the low cost = low risk option and making sure that the option I chose showed decent to good reviews, I selected this one. I'm not disappointed. Points: 1) It is not nearly as powerful or effective as my full-size waterpik. I don't care much about this as it still gets the job done. Inasmuch as it saves me from having to tear my gums apart using the medieval disposable tools when traveling, I'd say as far as functional purpose goes, it is a home run. So by not as powerful or effective, what I mean is that it doesn't feel as substantially powerful when using it, but in the end with a little more patience needed for refilling the reservoir or more time needed to attack specific spots, it still gets everything clean. 2) I've never once needed extra tips. It comes with several and so far I've only used the one. I might use a few more someday but the fact that these are proprietary doesn't bother me. 3) It is actually pretty quiet. Definitely quieter than the home station. Not so loud that it will wake the familials. It doesn't exactly purr quietly. Maybe an exuberant aggressive purring? 4) It folds into itself! The tip is removed with a button press, its stored in the body, the pickup tube retracts into the body, the body stores inside the reservoir. It all goes into the case which still has room for all of the tips that came with it but the whole thing is tidy and small and packs easily. It assembles quickly and easily and the reservoir comes off with a twist, and back on the other way after a quick fill. 5) Rechargeable. I do almost wish that the battery was user-serviceable and could be easily replaced at some point but the reality is it doesn't need to. With regular use it will be easy to tell when it needs to be replaced. Without regular use it will become quickly evident but at the low cost and the easy to obtain replacement... I'd say this is non-deal-breaker. The fact that it IS rechargeable and easily so via USB again makes this perfectly suited for travel. As for battery life... I've used it every few days for a few weeks now and it has yet to be recharged. If I were to one day travel again overseas (thanks alot COVID), I would not hesitate to pack this. I'm speaking to this specific scenario since when packing to go somewhere far or even strange, I still do my best to pack light, and in most of these cases space is at a premium. Given my gum comfort is precious to me, I would sacrifice an extra rolled up pair of shorts to carry this flosser with me. QUICK UPDATE: A few years now. I use this more sparingly on trips only which is probably 3-4 a year more or less. This last trip it wasn't putting out any water even though the motor seemed to be running okay. I tried pushing the pickup tube in and out and still nothing. After toying with it, I just blew some air into the pickup tube real quick and it started working again. Who knows, I may have damaged it but its working now like new. If this happens to you though don't give up on it. Still one of the best things I carry in my suitcase.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hope It Lasts
*by Y***I on May 31, 2023*

I purchased this same flosser in February 2022. It did a great job, when it worked. It worked more often than it didn't so I never activated the warranty. I guess you could say it lulled me into a false sense of working. Finally, after the warranty expired, it did not resurrect itself. Due to the intermittent functioning I tried two other brands. One didn't have the power I wanted, and the other was awkward for me to hold so both were returned. After two returns I felt Amazon's sellers didn't need me to continue trialing flossers. I broke down and purchased another YaFex. I figured at least I could hold it comfortably and have the power I wanted. It is comfortable, but the power is not what the old one was, but I'm keeping it because I don't want to go any longer without a water flosser. It comes with a compact, zippered carrying case. It even has room enough for me to add interdental brushes and saline rinse packs for when I use the sinus rinse tip. The sinus rinse tip is very nice to have with this unit because it means I don't have to carry a neti pot or some other sinus rinse vessel in addition to the water flosser. Thank you, RM.
