Review: High quality and functionality - We originally purchased it because my wife’s Apple mouse wasn’t tracking on her older and worn mousepad. Before the new pad arrived, I inspected her mouse and realized a small amount of dust and a few tiny pet hairs were affecting the optical laser tracker in the hole on the bottom. I used a cotton swab to gently wipe this area and also gave it a few quick pulses of air (I basically just blew and dislodged to tiny particles). Once I reconnected the Apple mouse, it worked perfectly. That all being said, this new pad is great! I’ve ended up using it and I love the padded area to rest my wrist. The pattern on the surface seems to increase my mouse’s sensitivity and ability to track. Also, the backing of the mousepad is tacky, increasing stability, so it stays in place without being sticky. For the price, it is a very high quality product that feels substantial and heavyweight. I’m bummed that I no longer have my older mousepad with a custom image of one of my pets on it, but I think I prefer to have something that is very functional vs. just being visually appealing. It would be nice if it came in different colors, but black and gray is very neutral and should, at the very least, not distract or call attention to itself.

It's the perfect size and stays put with the backing material that doesn't discolor wood over time. And.... it looks modern, clean and kind of cool. The write pad also has a faux leather appearance which is classy and doesn't wear out compared to others that have the neoprene like material that gets filthy over time. Tip: If the mouse has any difficulty with accuracy, just clean the surface with window cleaner and a cloth and it's back to new.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five ***** for Everything but FPS Gaming! — Update!

Update— after months of use: I have tried numerous ways to flatten it out, but the corners still curve upwards. I would consider this an overall 3.5* product. It will last forever and is very comfortable but it won’t lay flat. Excellent surface for precision and speed, except the corners bend slightly upwards... I find the pad is amazingly accurate for all my work apps + RTS/RPG games and also easy to clean, because it has a smooth finish that can be wiped off with a damp cloth. I've even hosed it down in the sink when I spilled coffee on it, because it has no absorbent or cloth-like surfaces (despite this fact, it is very supportive and comfortable). Non-slip backing is top-notch. 5 stars for these chracteristics. 3* justification/why it's 4* overall-- For FPS gaming, if you use a medium or low mouse sensitivity, this pad probably isn't big enough for you (check dimensions) and also, the corners curl up. The curvature of the pad will affect play when sweeping motions are made, towards the edges, and may also be less responsive if you are perched there, especially, if you are like me and use HIGH mouse sensitivity. I would suggest a larger precision mousing surface and a separate wrist rest for all FPS players. I break out my old mousepad for playing shooters and it works fine.
