## Description

Ironlace knows that to do the job right means having the right tools. We were tired of having our footwear break on us in the middle of an important job so we developed a Virtually Unbreakable shoelace using the worlds most advanced Para-Aramid fibres. Other "tough" laces are only coated with Polyester, Nylon or have only a small portion of Kevlar. IronLaces are made of 100% Para-Aramid and made in the USA. Our shoe laces are 1000X more durable than Cotton and Polyester laces, 100X more durable than leather and 20X more durable than Kevlar Laces. We put all of our products through intensive lab testing to ensure that you will always have the right tools for the job.

Review: Extremely strong, and takes getting used to - I've got boots that keep shredding laces (I think an edge on one of the eyelets is slicing them) so I bought these hoping they would be different, or at least no risk with the guarantee. The good news: they are strong. 4 pairs of laces lasted less than a month, after a month these iron laces aren't even scratched so I'm certainly happy they will last me a decent time. The difference: they are harsh. These laces have zero stretch or give in them. It took a while to get them laced just right because they don't stretch and balance out as you walk and don't dream about slipping shoes on and off. They are very grippy against the eyelets and against themselves. It takes a little getting used to, but they come off after an hour walk with exactly the same tightness as when I first tied them. I think it's a good thing, as long as you have boots with open hook eyelets at the top or loosening these could be hard The bad: these are very harsh on the fingers. Pulling tight is hard (see above) and if you pull the knot too tight it hurts to undo. You need to accept that a mild knot will still hold it reliably. They also arrive very dirty. Part of the manufacturing process seems to leave them with a black powder residue that really gets over your hands. I suggest when you buy them give them a lot of wiping before first use, or that the manufacturer does it before packaging. I'm happy with the laces, it's sort of what you want in a heavy pair of boots as long as you know what you are getting.

Work with normal lacing methods, likely to need double knotting but who's not doing that already? They don't hurt your hands, the other reviewers most be overly sensitive. They unlace easy enough, you don't need to pull them through every loop. They're not quite black, more of a metalic grey / black.

**Q: How do I pick the appropriate length for my boot? I don't know the current lace length.**
A: There are boot lace length carts on the internet based on how many eyelets your boot has.  Most lace manufacturers will have this information on their website.  Another way is to use a spare piece of string.  Lace up a spare piece of string cut it were you like the length and measure that.

**Q: are they made in china?**
A: I also checked out whether they were made in China. The are made 100% in the USA.

**Q: Is this for just one or a pair of laces?**
A: This is a pair of laces. It comes with two laces total. One for each shoe/boot.

**Q: I tear an average shoelace every day skateboarding, will these withstand a beating from griptape?**
A: I would be surprised if they ever broke, griptape or not.

I work in fuel delivery so have to wear specific boots that are oil and fuels resistant, with anti-slip soles and other requirements. The boots that meet the PPE requirements had laces fitted that were quickly cut up by eyelets that cut through the laces outer sleeve and then into the lace itself. These laces are amazing. I agree with other commenters who say they need double tying, but I was used to doing that anyway so it's not an issue for me. I didn't have the experience of colour coming off the laces onto my hands. I am hopeful these laces will outlast the boots by a comfortable margin and that they can be swapped over at a later date.
