I didn't receive any chart.** A: You do not compare it to anything the number is the amount of electro conductivity in your water(ppm of dissolved solvent witch are mostly minerals)Pure water that reeds 0 ppm does not conduct electricity. If you want clean drinking water try to filter it to were it is around 50 ppm that way you still get some minerals witch your body needs. If you are using it for mixing fertilizer for your plants you should not exceed 600 ppm when they are small and do not exceed 1500 ppm when plant are larger with more roots. **Q: The instructions say it's warranty is for 3 years. It's odd that there is no company name as to who it would be returned to. Who is the manufacturer?** A: Hi LmariThe brand name iSpring is stamped on the TDS meter itself. The only way to know is with a calibration solution. Most meters are quite close when they are new, but as time goes by, the accuracy can decline. If you want accurate readings, get some calibration solution. **Q: Essential minerals are also picked up by TDS meters and that is not an effective to way to check or test water quality. True?** A: True. This can vary from samples taken a minute after another. I am not sure how normal this is for samples to fluctuate on the same line this way but in comparison to testing the filtered water samples from my RO faucet I have to say it seems the tester seems pretty accurate. My filtered water samples read steadily from 21-22 TDS. Store bought cooler water reads at 11 TDS from spigot. I'm giving this item a 5 star review because I have no reason to believe it isn't operating as designed to despite large fluctuations in close water samples from tap. I think as well water sits in lines there is more TDS, the longer I run lines before I take the sample the lower the TDS number readings are.
