If you are repairing a Dodge Journey on the front passenger side, you are very likely to also need a new intermediate shaft and bearing. Order it before you start the job, because the online price for such a thing is like a hundred bucks and the "you need it right now and have to get it at the dealer" price was over four hundred dollars. Not to mention I had to drive 90 minutes to get the intermediate shaft and bearing. Here is how you might know it is the intermediate shaft bearing. Ours was making a squeaking as the wheel rotated. At first I thought it might be a wheel bearing, but I ruled that out with a stethoscope and decided it must be the CV axle. What I failed to realize is that there is one more bearing between the CV and the Transaxle and that bearing was bad bad bad. I didn't find this out until I had the CV axle out.
