So buying these helped me prevent them on my furniture. Low cost assessment product. *by J***D on June 5, 2016* We ordered these because our neighbor's child came over and we found a bed bug on him. Until that point we had not seen a bed bug any where in our house. Of course we did a lot a researching the issue and we acted quickly. Placed this order the next day and started following the cleaning steps we found online while waiting for the shipment. When I received the package, I opened it to find some generic looking boxes incasing the traps. Nothing wrong with that but I wanted to mention so you would know what to expect. I opened the product boxes and found the traps individually wrapped and pre powdered. If you don't already know, don't disturb the powder in the trays, it has been placed there to help trap the bed bugs. My first impressions were that the plastic is thick and durable. The design matches the picture and I believe the design will be effective. There are nubs in the middle part of the trap where the bed legs rest, I assume this will help keep the bed from moving around while getting in and out. They are not nearly big enough for my king size bed frame, solid wood bedroom set. However, they will work with smaller more standard sized legs. The outer channel (the portion that traps the bugs) is narrow at one point and gradually gets wider until the widest point on the opposite side. This allows you to move your bed very close to the wall as it claims in the description. Personally, I did not move the bed back where it would touch the wall, but the narrow side of the trap allowed me to move the bed as close as I wanted to, which keeps the functionality of the room that we are used to when considering floor space The good news is that we never did see another bed bug and we are glad to say that we are not sure if the traps actually work or not. I gave them a 4 star review because I believe they are of good construction and the method is a sound way to assess the situation, but they are not large enough for my bed. These were the largest ones I could find and I would not have bought any smaller for any of our other beds anyway. I would suggest buying the largest ones you can find unless you have cast iron frame or similar smaller legs. If you believe you may have bed bugs then this is a good way to start.
