I want to dye wood then spray shellac w/wax and then apply the solarez as the top coat. Will this work?** A: If the Shellac has wax that is on the surface when dried, it needs to be scuff-sanded. Then, it is an excellent substrate **Q: What is the best solvent for thinning this? I've been having some trouble with runs. Acetone doesn't really seem to dissolve it well.** A: we do not recommend thinning by solvent - it will not cure as well. If you heat the resin to 90F it will still be safe and this will significantly reduce viscosity. You should NOT use any MEKP catalyst if you are heating (a few seconds in microwave , depending on wattage) **Q: How fast does it cure under UV light?** A: Depending on the application and if you mixed it well enough a few minutes is all it took if at all. I've had times where it did not at all. Then there was some that would not cure unless you used natural sunlight for about 30 minutes. It's very unreliable. **Q: Does this cure totally hard, or does it stay lightly tacky?** A: "Cures to a slightly tacky finish to improve ensuing laminates’ adhesion."
