I pulled up a webpage that recommended using IRremote library. I just added the library on the IDE, and then used test code, and I was away. Every button on the keypad had a different encoded number. I even had 2 other remotes lying around on my desktop. Both those worked as well. They included an LED in the package with it and some Dupont cables. I did not need them. The receiver fits snugly into a breadboard.
