The replacement heads replaced a 6 year old Norelco series 8040. Worked good but- the replacement heads have to be kept together as per head. In other words the blades are made individually to each head unit.If these blades and heads are mixed they do not cut well!! Another words the cutting rotary blade taken out of head 1 will NOT do a good cutting when placed in unit 2 or 3 . That stated - the same situation exits for the sharpener !!! That's why this got negative feedback from some users !!. Take one head cutter at a time out use the sharpener, then replace in PROPER place takes more time -yes, then these sharpeners then work very well!! What does not help is if your razor is really old ,l have reason to believe the results will not be as good as if your started using the sharpeners when the razor is say 2 years old. They are crap. You will get a better shave using a spoon. **Q: Will this work with a norelco model 6863xl reflex plus? it uses hq55 plus blades. the "comb" is not round and has 2 little hooks to hold it in place.** A: The VHS-3 is a direct fit for the HQ-8 blade, which is round and fits in a round comb assembly. The comb does have an orienting tab for correct location. Other blade assemblies of this type may work as well. I was happy with the results obtained ; it worked as well as a new blade set after the sharpening. **Q: Will it work with a 8000 series 3D ?** A: I don't know what that is. Is new ?????? ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Shaves like new *by S***F on January 22, 2021* I bought this with some trepidation, as I had purchased a similar product some years ago. But much to my delight it does what it claims to do! This is the best thing for a Norelco razor since "Razor Magic"! Shaving is closer and faster than before and rivals new blades. My only concern is how long will it last? But I figure that if I get 4-5 or more sharpenings it will have been money worth spent.
