I used a meter to measure the resistance between the pin and the outer and it was below what my meter could measure, so it's all metal and fully conducting. I returned my plugs because of this, but it's a shame as otherwise they are well-made. **Q: Will these fit sony str-dn1080 reciever** A: That’s what I bought them for. They are a good tight fit and make it very easy if you have to move speakers or the amplifier. **Q: Are these colour coded for positive & negative?** A: Hi, yes they are colour coded. The manufacturer name is white (left) on one and red (right) on the other. Decent plugs. **Q: What is the outer jacket made from, is it anodized aluminium?** A: As far as I know it's plated gold. That's what they're advertised as. They seem to be of good quality though, neat and tidy when hooked up.
