It's sturdy, well-made, and works without a hitch (or added software). I did the work for you: If you are a serious amateur with a good D-SLR using some form of SD card (but you are NOT a super-serious amateur with a wide array of cameras or an aspiring professional!), this is the one high-quality, fairly priced item for you to buy. It handles only SD and micro SD cards, BUT importantly goes all the way to SHXC and ultra-high performance versions while also having a 3.0 USB plug. Therefore, it will be suitable for use for a long time and is still backward compatible for those using older plain SD cards or 2.0 USB computers.
