The moveable fans are easy to place where you want them, so you get the maximum cooling in the areas that you want it. So far, my laptop has not slipped on the stand....it has some rubber on the forward and backward part of the stand, which seems to be doing a good job at gripping the laptop so far. Since I only overclock it at home attached to my large monitor and using an external keyboard/mouse, I can always use the strap that is provided if it does start to slip on the stand. I did also check out using the laptop and its keyboard, and the angle of the cooler stand is not too much.....my hands seemed to still be comfortable, and typing and using the touchpad seemed to be just fine at that angle. I could see the laptop maybe slipping some if you were doing some hard gaming on the laptop using its keyboard. Cons: Nothing so far Would highly recommend this to anyone needing something to cool your laptop 2-10 degrees celsius. I have a feeling that a lot of this might be due to ambient temps, as my computer room was around 72 degrees F when I did my earlier tests. I normally have my window open a bit, with a small fan running to bring down the ambient temps(as my desktop is an old Athlon 2 970 that I have overclocked to the hilt, and it produces a lot of heat). So after bringing my computer room ambient temp down to around 68 F, I can overclock to 4.2 ghz with temps on HWmonitor around 97-98 tops on a consistent basis after the timespy benchmarks and stress tests. First off, the fan speed seems to be awful when you first start to use it. I’ve ran it about 3 times, a few hours each. And each time, the fans seem to pull more and more air, when cranked up to max power. Maybe my laptop just can’t decide how much amperage to give the fans, or maybe the fans are breaking in a bit and working better. I’m not sure. But I just used it today, and the airflow is great now. So if you get one, and see all the posts about “The fans are weak, REEEEE!” Give it a few hours. Maybe plug it straight into a usb adaptor on a wall outlet, and see if your laptop is putting out a similar amount of amperage. Also, this thing is BIG. We’re talking “Can fit a 19” laptop” big. It’s set up so you can strap your laptop to it and carry the whole thing like a wire strewn briefcase, but my 15” Macbook Pro is too small for the support legs to support the laptop, and it would fall right through if I tried to carry it as intended. Besides that, it’s a solid system, and very modular. The fans detatch and can be placed wherever you want them on the mesh, and the cord is able to be clipped on wherever you want. What really caught my eyes is that, as I understand it, the fans themselves can be taken apart if needed. So, if one fails, you can probably loosen 2 or 4 Phillips screws and pop the fan apart and replace it. And if a cord breaks somewhere, just about anywhere, you can cut and splice it back together. Overall, I’m pretty happy with it, despite it being a monster of a pad. I gave it 4 stars because I’d have preferred one about 3” smaller on the diagonal, more suited for the common 15” to 17” laptop.
