It doesn't cake, and is long lasting. I am extremely fair, and originally got the lightest shade, but I returned it, and got the next one up, and it was a perfect match. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is that when you turn the wand to get the product onto the brush, more comes out that you (or specifically) I need. I wipe it off when I'm done applying so that it doesn't build up and get dry and cakey I use a concealer brush to apply it. .
