Review: My favorite brush - The Semogue 803 Premium Boar Hair brush is my favorite shaving brush. Mind you, not just my favorite BOAR brush, but my OVERALL favorite. I own some very nice badger brushes, but I don't like them nearly as well. I'd first like to address some negatives you hear about boar brushes, as they pertain to Semogue brushes. They smell bad (especially at first): Not Semogue brushes. They smell fine right out of the box. Stick your nose right in there, it smells fine, and mine came straight from the factory. They take a long time to break in: Not Semogue brushes. They're nice and soft, right off the bat. No, not as soft as a silver tip badger, but not scratchy at all. They don't lather as well as badger: No they don't. They lather BETTER, especially face lathering. Wet shaving is a real man thing and this is a MAN's brush. Cream or soap will both lather great and make you feel like you're really doing something with them. Buy one. They're cheap, and you can't beat the quality. Semogue's the best, and they look good too.
Review: Exceptional value - Thought I would wait to review until after a little break in time. And you will have some break in time with any boar brush. All I can say is this brush gets better after each use. I have about 15 or so shaves with it and it has gotten softer over time and I think it will end up being as soft as any silver tip I have. Boar brushes have a different feel than badger and synthetic's but that's not a bad thing. It has backbone but not hard a soft backbone and man does this lather up fast. I find my self reaching for this more often than my silvertip, pure badger or plisoft synthetic. Remember there might be a little smell mine went away after about 4 shaves. There will break in time to see the true potential of this brush. What you'll end up with is a amazing brush an exceptional value wish I would have tried this brush earlier in my wet shaving journey. I highly recommend this brush. The brush came in a nice little box good packing delivered on time. would buy again from seller. I would buy this brush again if something ever happened to the one I have now.

A: Portugal. By the way the Semogue 830 is absolutely my #1 favorite brush, I own 6 Semogue brushes and a few very nice badger brushes, this is my go to.

**Q: what is the difference between Semogue 610, 620 and 830?**
A: Semogue 610: 21mm knot/50mm loft/natural/90% tops
Semogue 620: 21mm knot/50mm loft/dyed/75% tops
Semogue 830: 22-23mm knot/55mm loft/dyed/90% tops
Quality of hair depends on model number and can be found on Semogue website.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Terrific brush well worth the cost
*by L***R on August 17, 2015*

This is an incredible value. This is my first boar brush, and am extremely pleased with it thus far. Freshly out of the box, the brush had no porcine odor at all. it possesed a nice tight knot, offering great backbone, without being scritchy at all. It did lose two bristles prior to its first use, but only two additional bristles in the month I've been using it since. It does require a longer time to dry completely, but the bristles are starting to split, and has developed a nice soft feel, while losing the lather hog tendency. The handle is nicely weighted, and has a comfortable shape to grip without slipping out of your hand. I use this brush along with my Shavemac finest badger, with both hard soap such as Tabac as well as croaps, specifically Proraso, and it always develops a nice slick, cushioning later. You will find, if you perform more then two passes, that you need to reload the brush but this is a minor point. overall, if you're considering a boar, this is the best you can get, especially for the money.
