Review: Was looking for a quiet office keyboard and this delivers as a great price point - Don't know if it helps but my background is 50/50 gaming and productivity. For years I've used mechanical, traditional membrane, and scissor switch style keyboards. Everyone seems to think mechanical is a must these days but personally I don't need the tactile feel. Keyboard keys for me are never used with the level of precision of a two-stage competition match trigger. So with that, I've transitioned away from mechanicals. I do find them satisfying to use, don't get me wrong, but ultimately I find the practicality of scissor switch the best. Short key throws to minimize the effort needed when you're putting in thousands on thousands of keystrokes in a day. Call me lazy but in theory this means less time for keypress activation. So you can already imagine I think this keyboard is a delight to use just from that alone - and it is. It's everything you need, even as a slightly-more-than-casual gamer. Most key presses are very quiet, keeping all of my office cube neighbors from going crazy. The space bar is always the loudest on most keyboards and this is the same; but that said this one isn't terrible either. Most of the keys feel like they are subtly concave which I really appreciate. The best in the business are the island keys on IBM/Lenovo laptop keyboards - I can't even describe the shape but those are pleasure to type on. The Logi MX Keys I've had for a while and I love how deep the dishes on on those. Despite how minimal it is, I'd still rate the ones on the KC 6000 as really good! LED indications for lock keys are plenty bright, and I love the red color behind all of the keys. They make me think premium, like contrast stitching on a racing seat. It's a nice subtle reminder that while it looks like it, that you aren't using just a basic OEM keyboard. The Arteck 2.4G keyboard I've had and it ticks the boxes of what folks look for in the MX Keys but the feel of it isn't nearly as premium as that, or for the value on the KC 6000. And the desertcart Basics Ultra Premium Wireless Keyboard I bought for my parent's PC is decent and comes with a mouse. It works but it doesn't make me feel like I want to use it for typing like I do the MX Keys or the KC 6000. Maybe that's a good selling point if you want to justify this keyboard to be expensed for work. Are you really still reading this review? What are you waiting for? Add it to your cart.
Review: Excellent Keyboard - The keyboard is worth its value, the aesthetic is clean and simple, I also like the finish of the Cherry logo. The keyboard button is firm and smooth, and the resistance is just right, the sound of the keys are very satisfying as well. It might not be noticeable because of how the product is pictured, but the background of the keyboard is red metallic looking which is pretty cool. Just to let you guys be aware, the keyboard is not backlit. The durability seem decent, I have no problems so far. It is a clear upgrade from my previous keyboard, so far so good.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: does 'function lock' work with f1 - f12 keys for auxiliary functions?**
A: Function lock works for the Cherry KC 6000 Slim. All keyboards with f1 - f12 keys should have the capability of locking with CTRL + FN.

**Q: Are the backlit? Watching the promotion video, looks like there is some red glow coming out of the edge of the keys? Or is that photoshopped effects?**
A: That video uses cgi to disassemble the keyboard and show internals, and the red they use in the cgi version of the circuit board is a bit brighter than the actual one. The circuit board is red under the keys, but not that bright and definitely not backlit. At least not in this model.

**Q: How do the keys feel when typing?**
A: Very similar to a laptop.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 90% there for a low profile keyboard with standard buttons.
*by A***O on August 11, 2025*

I wanted a low profile keyboard like a laptop keyboard. This is about 90% there. It is pretty quiet and most of the keys are in the right place. I like that the F keys at the top are not shortcuts so they are easily usable. I don't like that it has a lock button and I accidently hit it once and it locked me out of my computer and I didn't know the password. I also don't like that the 10 key portion shrunk the plus button and moved the minus button down to add a backspace button which I do not need. Also I with it had backlighting.
