Its 3 batteries per device and I would "guess" that it could run for months (a year?) depending on use. I bought this brand because they already had magnets, but they were not strong enough to hold on to a vertical metal surface (slides down). I purchase magnets and applied them to the back which worked although they are off center due to the existing magnets.
