Discovered that though there is a place adjacent to the batteries in the battery compartment to insert the dongle when not being used, the dongle is larger than the location it's supposed to be stored in . Since I bought it to use for a laptop I move around with, that means I have to remove the dongle often. But I can't store it in the device unless I remove the batteries. With no logical place to store the dongle I guarantee it will be misplaced or lost within a couple weeks, which means the device becomes an expensive boat anchor. Bad design and should never have come to market.
