## Overview

The SNOM PA1 Public Address System is a versatile and powerful solution for both large and small PA systems, featuring a 4 Watt power amplifier, multi-cast relay capabilities, and a phone ringer amplifier with strobe light integration, ensuring clear communication in any setting.

## Description

Snom has developed a SIP bridge (PA1) enabling businesses to extend their existing public announcement speaker system while upgrading from digital/POTs systems into SIP-based voice communication solutions. The PA1 can be used in both small and large applications due to the inclusion of a 4-watt amplifier for single speaker projects. A microphone input is provided for two-way communication. Larger projects can utilize multiple speakers driven by external high wattage amplifier(s). The PA1 serves as an auto SIP answering preamp that drives the multi-speaker setup. Use of Snom’s proven SIP stack enables wide compatibility with all SIP platforms. Quick Summary - Works from your Snom handset - 4 Watt power amplifier - Works with handset, headset or in handsfree mode - Easy to install - Broadcasting announcements over 8 ohm speakers

Review: SIP PA Endpoint - Have a client who has a warehouse that needed a phone and a PA system to cover the area. In this particular instance, the customer already had Valcom amplified speakers installed from a previous system. The primary problem is that SIP telephones have ringers that are only suitable for office environments and cannot be heard when installed in areas with high ambient noise levels. This device (PA1) installed in minutes and performs both functions - that of driving the PA speakers as an announcement system and using the same speakers to act as a ringer when the SIP phone in the warehouse receives a call. Check out the SNOM website [...] to see the required configuration (look at the product page, then click on the support link and then the FAQ). This saved me and my customer many dollars and the fact that it could also handle thr ringer aspect is a bonus. A great product.
Review: Definitely a great solution in the VoIP world - Definitely a great solution in the VoIP world. I am not one to just simply program it once and leave it. I have to dabble with all the tweaks. The only one bad thing I found was it would stop working (no audio out) when the Speaker Volume was above 12 when the Amplifier Gain was set to 1. Then it required a power cycle to get it to work again until a page would occur, then lockup again. Once I set the Speaker Volume to 12 it worked fine. I ended up turning off the Amplifier Gain (value = 0) and setting the Speaker Volume to 14. This particular one has 2 - 16 ohm loud speakers in parallel connected to it. All of the others that I have bought are connected to 70 volt amps so speaker volume does not apply.

## Features

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this device have a line level out (rca or 1/8" jack) for audio so i can connect it to an existing amplifier line level input?**
A: About the headphone jack, per the manual: "This port is for installation and maintainance sic purposes only, not for the connection of other devices."It does not connect the audio from a call or intercom to the headset. You can use something like ASIN:B000ES9QNA PYLE PLVHL60 2 Channel Speaker to RCA Converter to convert the speaker output to line level to drive your amp.

**Q: The image on the page doesn't match the product specifications document. is the product image correct, or is the product specifications image correct?**
A: I only see the main image at the top of page for the listing and it is correct. I do not see any image in the specifications.

**Q: Does this devis play pre-recorded messages?**
A: It would need a source. It's possible but depending on application you may find something suited to your application. Typically I use this amp as a phone system paging, break bell and ringing device.

**Q: how many speakers can you hook up to the Snom Pa1?**
A: I have been able to hook up 3-4 pyle 8" horn speakers using 1 or 2 cat5e cables. Either 2 pair or 4 pair have worked great for me. The Snom only have a left and right channel hook up, but splice them all together and it works great.

### ⭐ NO support -- Overly complicated.
*by S***H on October 26, 2023*

We had our IT specialist try everything he could to hook this SNOM unit up to our VOIP system. He was doing online research for several hours trying to get it programmed and eventually failed. Additional support was only available if you had a contract with a system supplier (which everyone will obviously need. ) What a PAIN! Most technical equipment has become easier to use... not harder. Btw: the output connections look like they can power a pair of computer speakers, not an overhead system. GOOD LUCK!
