The metal piece on the bottom of 2 fell off, and the others get rusty. Also smaller than I thought they would be. They work great. Wanted a cup you could put in microwave to heat and a cup with a lid so it doesn’t spill in car. Works for both. **Q: Can the cork bottom be removed?** A: At first they were easily removed. I couldn’t keep the cork bottoms on. There are magnets attached to the cup and to the cork bottom. The magnet became unglued from the cork bottom after using one time. When that happened the cork bottom would fall off leaving the cup sitting on both magnets. I glued the cork bottoms on. So now the cork bottoms cannot be removed. Hot cup cork bottom won't bother desk or table top. perfect! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great choice for clumsy drinkers! *by C***N on August 22, 2026* After spilling coffee on my keyboard for the hundredth time, I sought out a sturdy mug that didn't tip over so readily and had some sort of cover that was easy to use and keep clean. This mug is IT! Both mugs have been used daily over the last month -- no notes! These work great. They are quite heavy so they're good at keeping my coffee/tea warm and also the few times I've knocked one with my elbow it did not spill. I'm a little confused about the cork base, though. Personally, I don't see the point in a built-in coaster and in addition it's an extra step to pull it off before cleaning. I tend to forget to do this and then it'll sit in a wet sink until I remember, d'oh.
