We also only use the lemon scented they seem to work better to break down the cat pee smell. **Q: What about use for small dogs? Would these work? Absorbent?** A: Should work for a small dog. There is no leakage at all if you change them consistently. I change mine twice a week because I have two cats that use the XL litter box. I had purchased the name brand pads as well as another brand on amazon, and they honestly don't work as well as the Amazon brand. These are much more durable and economical in price.
