This is a plastic kennel designed for a lifetime of use. Our plastic crate will be your “go to” everyday home crate and Travel kennel. We include everything you need should you chose to ever fly with your dog. Check out our VIDEO here on this page for a quick tour of kennel features. Crate/ kennel assembly is fast and easy. Locking snaps hold the kennel halves together; additional included metal hardware locks the kennel together giving you peace of mind that your crate will make it safe and secure. Some dogs chew their escape through plastic ventilation holes. We use metal slats to mitigate the chewing problem and keep your pet safe. Accident moat pulls spills away from your pet’s body, out to the edges of the kennel strong metal kennel door with a smooth, easy-to-grasp latch thick impact resistant poly shell can take a wallop and keep on going pet parents should check with their airline before a trip. Review: Can’t understand why this is a frequently returned item. Maybe because it’s larger than what people think? I have a 24 pound big cat and have been traveling with him in a medium size metal crate. Crate is too big and I think he would prefer something smaller so he feels safer because he hates to travel. We’re typically in the car no more than 2.5-3.5 hours. Have looked at a number of pet carriers because he’s so big that most the small crates are too small, he would destroy a soft crate and the larger crates are too big. Found this one and it was purrfect. He can stand up and he can turn around because he’s a cat, even though he’s morbidly obese he’s amazingly bendy and squashy. He also didn’t allow me to put it together before he claimed it. I had to assemble it with him in it and assembly was very easy, great design. Excellent sturdy construction, we do not plan on traveling in a plane so I can’t speak for that, the “certificate” it came with saying it was plane compliant was dated 2013. Things may have changed since then but there’s no way an animal is getting out of this without assistance. If you’re planning to travel on a plane, just try to make sure there will be no loose monkeys because they could definitely figure out how to open the door. We will be taking a trip fairly soon and I hope that he is happier in this than he was in the metal crate. Of course he wouldn’t cooperate to get a side-by-side picture and he looks too big in the video where he’s standing on top, but the crate accommodates him beautifully. Well ventilated, but won’t allow him to stick his fat paw through to claw shred my car, cool water/food dishes and stickers to stick all over it letting everyone know it contains a LIVE ANIMAL. Could also be used for a raccoon as long as his hands were not too tiny, so as not to reach them through the door to open it from the outside.
