Flightline FL-760 VHF Com Transceiver

I bought this to put in my '46 ercoupe. I've seen some complaints about noise and volume control but have not had any real issues. Other aircraft hear me loud and clear. Installation instructions are very limited but all that's necessary. I did have to do a little research to be sure I wired it correctly. Thus the 1 star deduction. I made a "mistake" when I ordered this and did not get one with pre-assembled jacks and harness. I would advise that you do that as it only costs a little more and saves a lot of time. Especially if you don't have soldering equipment. It wasn't difficult to assemble, just time consuming which is fine by me as I enjoy the tinkering. I appreciate being able to see both frequencies. The frequency swap switch can be wired to a push button so you can keep your hands on the yoke. For the money I think this is a good product and would recommend it to anyone looking for a lightweight radio that works well.

The radio came with good documentation and I was able to make up the harness so it would operate as desired. The intercom is quite good and the vhf range is beyond what I expected. We power the radio with a 12 amp alarm battery which last a couple of months between charges and the radio doesn't seem to be overly sensitive to voltage drop as the battery wears down. One caution.... it is pretty long so be sure the space behind the panel is deep enough. I had to make a box to fit below the panel in our installation.

Internal 10 amp fuse blew after 1 flight. Returned to Sarasota Avionics, who still has the vendor conducting the warranty repair (6 weeks later). Do not buy.

i can have lots of static in the intercom, or a setting that cuts off the intercom spoken sentence after one or two words. there doesnt sems to be a setting that allows me to have both working properly. please send any advice to tobradex2@ hotmail.com. after contacting the company, they replaced it with their new radio at no cost to me. ah-h-h-h-h. radio still works, and now the intercom is good. no problems and it has now been 5 yrs. kt

Was disappointed to find that the intercom feature was not voice activated but a separate button. It advertises an intercom feature and I assumed it would be similar to other modern radios.

Have this radio in my Rans S6S for 6 years. No problem and it works beautifully with my Sigtronics SP 200s audio panel. Excellent range and clarity.
