This is good stuff
I wanted a product I felt good about using in my new baby's nursery to seal some painted furniture. With zero VOCs, this fit the bill. As per the manufacturer's recommendation, I used 2 coats of gloss under 1 coat of satin on the surfaces of the dressers that receive the most wear (top and drawer fronts) and 1 gloss under 1 satin on the rest of the pieces. It dries fairly quickly and looks great. The gloss is even a nice consistency to work with, a bit thinner than latex paint but comparable to other polyurethane finishes I've tried (the satin is another story; it's quite chunky and harder to use, but the end result was worth it). You have to be careful not to drag the brush, or the brush marks will show. A couple of things to keep in mind: VOC-free doesn't mean odorless and you still want to use it in a ventilated area; it will severely gunk up your brushes if you don't clean them thoroughly after using (for some reason it actually came off my cheap brushes more easily than the nice Purdy ones); it has quite a short wet edge; and mine came in a plastic bottle with a screw-on lid, not the quart-sized can pictured. Not a bad thing, but not what I was expecting. The finish on my furniture pieces is great. It's durable, wipes clean and looks beautiful. This product is almost ridiculously expensive in my opinion, but worth it for my peace of mind in my baby's room. And now that I've worked with it, I'd probably buy it again for other projects since it's more environmentally friendly than the alternatives.

Results Speak for Themself!
IWow!!! formed and made concrete countertops. For the life of me, I COULD NOT get a smooth finish until I used Ardex feather finish! This was my last ditch attempt and it was a home run! I kept mine slightly more wet than the instructions state, but it spread very well with a 12" trowel. The coloring and pattern turned out beautiful and I sealed it with Acrylacq for durability and gloss. Absolutely recommend this stuff!!! Wife has already tested it out before we pour the other 2/3 of concrete countertops and it is durable! Love this!

Concrete countertop WARNING
PLEASE READ if you're here because you're gathering materials for a concrete countertop project. First of all, this type of project is a lot harder to finesse than one might think. Even if you're handy/artistic, it has a high chance of coming out looking like a House Flipper Special if you have no prior experience with masonry. More importantly - THIS IS NOT THE PRODUCT TO USE FOR IT! I do not understand why DIY blogs recommend the 511 Impregnator Sealer + Safecoat combo. 511 Impregnator on its own is not sufficient to protect countertops (acids will get through it instantly), and Safecoat is a WOOD SEALANT. By the time I reached this point it was far too late to turn back and use a more appropriate product. If you're dead set on doing the concrete countertop thing, get a concrete sealant that seals and protects the material in one go. Learn from my mistakes and do some extra research into the correct type of product to use instead of blindly following those DIY blogs. That said - yes, this will form a protective waterproof coating on top of concrete that has been sealed with 511 Impregnator. It gives it a plastic-y feel, which makes it feel cheap after all that effort. The glossy finish highlights every single imperfection in the concrete. I have no doubt that solvent-based sealants smell worse, but this still has a rather strong odor while curing. It is easy to apply and self-levels, so it won't show individual brushstrokes. Take the time to watch it after applying to vertical surfaces to brush out any drips. It has a slightly blue tint which makes it easier to see while applying, but dries clear. I can't speak on its durability but I know that it is far less durable than an actual concrete protectant. I expect to have to reapply after a year or two. I can't fault the product for my using it in a way that is not approved by the manufacturer. My rating is based on the plastic sort of finish it left, the strong odor (it smelled WAY worse than 511), and the frankly bizarre claim on the bottle that it is "doctor recommended" considering it's something you're not supposed to ingest or get on your skin. There are other ways to express that it is less toxic than other types of sealants without using the language of like, vitamin supplements and hygiene products.

Perfect for DIY Ardex Concrete Countertops
Worked perfectly on our DIY Ardex Feather Finish concrete countertops. I did 2 coats of Miracle Sealants 511 Impregnator + 2 coats of this AFM Safecoat Acrylacq Gloss waiting 24 hours between each coat and it turned out great. Very easy to apply and has a nice hard glossy finish that's food safe.

Perfect for toddler toys!
Bought this to use as a clear coat over homemade and hand painted wooden toys. Works great! No funny taste once dry (my kid is going to put toys in his mouth so I test a couple by putting them in mine first to make sure they’re safe) and no numbing sensation like I noticed with other clear coats that I tested. I will be using this on everything we make in the future.

Thick chunks in liquid
Have used this brand many times and have loved it without issue! This particular order had thick, coagulated chunky bits in it that had to be removed. Either bad, old or previously used and returned? Best comparison to describe is lemonade vs. lemonade with pulp. This one had pulp :(
