Worth the price
Copic Marker Greyscale is an excellent choice for artists seeking to create depth and dimension in their work. The set features a range of greyscale markers that allow for smooth blending and shading, making it ideal for illustrations, manga, and more. ### Pros: - Blendability: The alcohol-based ink blends seamlessly, allowing for smooth transitions between shades, which is perfect for achieving realistic shadows and highlights. - Versatility: The range of greyscale shades—from light to dark—provides artists with the flexibility to create various effects and styles. - Quality: Copic markers are renowned for their high-quality ink and durable nibs, ensuring longevity and consistent performance. ### Cons: - Price: They can be on the pricier side, which may not be suitable for every budget. However, the quality often justifies the investment. - Limited Color Range: While the greyscale set is excellent for monochromatic work, it may not be ideal for those looking to incorporate vibrant colors. ### Conclusion: Overall, Copic Marker Greyscale is a fantastic tool for artists who work in black and white. The ability to blend and layer shades effectively makes these markers a valuable addition to any artist's toolkit!

These markers are expensive, yes. These markers are awesome in the hand, yes. These markers will make you draw better, no...but you won't be able to blame the markers. If you are reading this review, then you have probably read all of the other 5-star reviews so there is nothing new for me to say than buy them. You already know how awesome they are, you are just on the fence because they are expensive. This is no different than investing is a great, balanced, sharp, chef's knife. the right tool makes the job easier and produces superior results - in the right hand. These markers are smooth and the ink flows well - nice and evenly. To properly use these markers, the ink should penetrate the paper, which may require multiple passes. Other markers layer the ink, so multiple passes will make the ink look darker; not these. Multiple passes may be required to get the true color, depending on the medium you are drawing on. Putting the ink on thick will not "darken" the color, but give you a true, streak free, color. Results are worth the money.

Stellar for Illustrators
Great for illustration, have saturated color and blend beautifully. Quality is fantastic. As a novice using a graphic marker for the first time, they did take some getting used to, but I'm confident the learning curve won't be terrible. Versatile with the two tips. I look forward to using them more, and will be buying more sets of colors in the future.

Best markers yet!
I am an industrial design student, and as such I use markers on virtually every project I have. The Copic Cool Gray Markers set is the second kind of Cool Gray markers I have purchased, and the last brand I will buy. The other leading brand does not compare to these. The Copic markers apply more uniformly, blend better, dry smoother and have a better gradient (shades are closer to those one higher or lower) and (knock wood) they don't dry out as fast. When they do, you can refill for less than the cost of replacing them, and that's better for the environment too. It's a win-win! The initial cost is a little higher than the other brand, but when you have to replace theirs so often, the cost savings disappear real quick. Buy these, and don't regret your purchase.

Is a good collection of Gray and Dark to have
Overall if you're familiar with copic, you know they're good quality. making their magic work it's more up to the artist. if you're looking for a few tones of gray and dark, this is good to have. you could play with all the tones in this box to create effects that might work in your favor.

Great markers but one came dry
I love copics. I find this gray set very useful. This is the second I’ve bought. One of the markers came dry. I didn’t send them back because I was in the middle of a project and didn’t want to delay further while I waited for a new box. Yes, these are easy beginners but they are artist grade markers and an overall excellent product.

Lv. 2 Copic Adventurer - Neutral Grays
(I say Lv. 2 because I started with the Multiliners for a few years.) I have already (within a month) used two of these markers to the point of needing a refill for them, and the 110 special black is not far behind--this has not been due to bad mileage, but rather they're such a joy to use that I didn't start setting them aside until now (that I'm running on E on two adjacent tones). People talk about the differences between Copic Sketch and Copic Classic markers, and now that I've got a small collection of sketch which I've used alongside these I will say that I will almost certainly buy exclusively sketch from here on out, but actually like having my grey tones in a different shape as well as having higher capacity (though I'll probably swap out the chisel for brush nibs unless I fall into a calligraphy vortex sometime soon). Ultimately they're quite expensive but work very consistently and very effectively. The growing collection feels less like being gouged and controlled by a company that knows you need it in an industry (*cough**cough*Creative Cloud) and more like leveling up on a skill tree in a game (such as Diablo II). One final note while I'm at it--I was using these on bristol board most of the time, but from the one occasion I used a copic marker paper I would say the marker paper worked just a liiiittle better and prevent quite a bit of absorption, which will save you on ink in the long haul! The windmill pic is on copic marker paper and the weird altar is on bristol, in case that offers some kind of comparison~

They work wonderfully! Expensive, but worth it.
