So I usually don’t like to write reviews right when I get what I bought. But I just had to come on here and write one in just under 10 hours or so since I received it. Man I’m not BSing, these things solved the gap problem we had in both my step son and nephew’s rooms. I didn’t even know such an item existed until I was looking to replace the whole door jam around the door and it popped up. So looking into it further I said why not and order me a set of them. And man I was impressed. Took awhile to get the right formula down but we got it and the door lock is dam near flushed to the strike plate. And this is after it had either a quarter or half inch gap. Now I am gonna have to put a thin, thin piece of weatherstripping where the hinges are cause it made a small gap back there. But nothing compared the where it locked. Hell the doors weren’t to secure when you could just dam near get a quarter and pop the lock. But with these ain’t no more of that happening. I mean if you put some effort into it yeah you can still open the door. But with these it’s a little harder now ya know. Oh one more thing. This is such a easy cleaver idea that I’m kicking myself in the rear end for not thinking of it first 😩

There are many methods for dealing with door issues. As a handyman, I am looking for the most efficient and effective way to make repairs. I tried these for the first time recently and was impressed. What I like about them is that the size, shape, and thickness eliminates a lot of customizing some other material. You do not need to completely remove the hinge, which also makes them easier to use. Seating the shim around the screws takes a little practice and can be a little hard to manipulate in tight spaces. The one thing I don't like about them is that they are only for hinges with three screws. if you have a four screw hinge you will have to cut a couple more notches, but that is easy enough to do with a utility knife.

These do the trick for fine tuning doors that need to be adjusted. Doors that don't latch, or have uneven gaps due to settling, for instance. Better than cardboard or wood. Good design in that you don't have to completely remove the hinge to place the shim(s). Good value and fit easily.

These shims are perfect for door aligment. I thought Id use a couple, I went through every door in our house and use them up to get really good alignments. Build quality is not what it used to be.

I really like these shims. My new pre-hung door jamb was crooked from the last hinge down. I didn't realize it until it was already installed. One of these solved the problem of the bottom edge of the door being against the jamb. I only had to remove 2 of the 3 screws on the hinge, so it made it very easy to install. You can make your own, but I for me, because these are evenly wedge shaped, I think they fit better, look better, and are well worth the money.

These didn't really work for me, and I'm not entirely sure it was an issue with the product it self, but we experienced some movement in our slab and had to get it repaired, but unfortunately, no matter what the slab lifters did, they couldn't get two of my doors to latch regularly on my second story, so I though I'd get these shims to try and make it work, and they didn't work for me. With all that said, they were easy to install and fit my hinges perfectly and I really appreciated that I didn't have to fully remove my hinge to get them in.
