I'm an avid cook, and switched over to ceramic knives a couple of years ago. My initial purchase was a Kyocera Santoku, a wonderful knife, one I still have and use. I also purchased a set of three cheap ceramics from a warehouse store. Those have broken or cracked in a year or so, so I was looking for a new set.This set is fantastic. The knives are wicked sharp (I believe 2nd gen ceramic), the block is functional and modern, and the overall set costs about half of what I paid for my first Kyocera. They're light, well-balanced, and very easy to use. The set also looks good sitting on the island in my kitchen, if you're interested in fashion as well as function. They slide through Peruvian potatoes, shallots, garlic, and clean a tenderloin in a snap.Since I recently purchased these, I cannot advise on longevity. So that may be a drawback. Or not.But if these last even a year, it's money well spent. Highly recommended.

So far an excellent little set of ceramic knives. Decent quality, especially for the price. We will see how long the edges hold up. Base is plastic but very functional and takes up little space. Nice set if you wast a set of light weight ceramic knives for a great price. For really heavy/large cutting you will need a larger and heavier ceramic knife.

Just got them today. They feel great in my hand and are REALLY sharp. I was unwrapping the knives out of the box and barely grazed the santoku knife by accident and it left a sizeable cut on my finger; I am impressed. Knives look great aesthetically and did great when i cut up some chicken and onions for dinner. Cuts everything like butter. Cuts butter like water. Very satisfied for now, rating may change depending on future performance but 5 stars for the time being****UpdateA couple days ago, I was cutting onions and the chef knife handle split in half. Although the blades seem to be of decent quality, it would appear the wood handles are not. Would not recommend for people who cut things like onions, or cheese. I rated this 5 stars before but now I'm going to give it 2 stars. For the price, I guess this is what you would expect. I've had this knife set for about 2 months before this happened.

This set looks great! I have been anxious to try them out and get them in my kitchen. I was a little bummed though, when I got home to set up my new knifes and the biggest one is chipped out of the box. I think ceramic knives are a great thing to have in the kitchen. They can be delicate, but with the proper care they are a great alternative to traditional stainless steel knives. I would generally have given this a 4-5 star, but seeing how I received the product damaged from the get-go, it get's 3. I hope this is an exception and not the standard for these knives!

These are amazing knives, I bought them a while ago and tested them out for about half a year now. They are sharper than any knife I have used, and the stand is really useful. My mom has some fancy metal blades that were easily 10x the price, and cut just as well as these do.THESE ARE GREAT KNIVES FOR THE PRICE!Pros:-Extremely sharp, cuts like knives do in the commercials-Great stand for displaying, and storing the knives-Great colorsCons:-NOT DISHWASHER SAFE, this can often be a pain.-The handles are a little small, my knuckles often hit the cutting board when I'm chopping

I have owned these knives for nearly 7 weeks. I took a bit of a gamble ordering the 6 piece set, but the few reviews there were seemed positive. Plus the investment was fairly modest compared to a traditional knife set and block.I'll preface by saying that I am an avid cook and have used my fair share of knives.These knives are very light. On a scale of sharpness I would rate them a 7/10. They are sharp, but not razor sharp. They are weighted just well enough that they have the correct balance of weight from the handle to the actual blade. The grip is also quite nice.As mentioned by someone else, they don't fit all that flush in the stand. In fact I wasn't even sure I had them in the correct order cause they were jiggling around a bit. The stand is completely plastic. It looks pretty cool, but the stand could use some more work honestly. It is fairly sturdy, I've tried tipping it over and you won't be able to do so without some effort.In terms of cutting, they perform pretty well, definitely better than your average knife set, but not as well as your very expensive set (to be expected). I don't have a cheese wire cutter, so I use the small knife to slice cheese, and it slices off a block with relative ease, which is a good indication of how sharp it is. A dull knife will simply smash your cheese block. Slicing off an apple is also extremely easy and precise. I am able to get very thin pieces of apple given how sharp these are. Cutting cooked chicken breast was not as easy as I would have liked however.I have left these in the sink with food on them for a day or two and after cleaning they look brand new. No concerns about staining or anything else, just as advertised.My only concern is longevity. They are ceramic, so my assumption is they will last a good while, but I don't know how long exactly. The good news that even if I get a year or two out of them, it was worth their cost. Overall I'm satisfied with my purchase, but wish they would have spent a little more time with the base. If you need a budget knife set that looks cool and will probably last a good while, then you've found one.

Only have had these for 9 months used maybe twice a week one tip has broke off and one handle is falling off for 60 bucks would think they would last longer

I have owned a lot of knife sets over the years. After I purchased the 6 piece Melange Ceramic Knife Set I threw out all my other knifes which totaled 35. These ceramic knifes are great! They cut everything with ease from bread to meat. I have them for quite awhile now and they are just as sharp. All this and they look great on y counter.
