10-40 full synthetic motorcycle is the correct type of oil for your bike. Triumph corporate recommends only the castrol brand (If you bought a ferrari back in the day you could only use shell). If you want to, you can check that it matches or exceeds all the "initials" (standards) jaso ma2 api sl iso-l-ema2 etc. that were on castrol in 2008 or in your manual. You can educate yourself on the standards and what they mean using the internet and decide what you want to do. You can also check on the Triumph forums. You can also call 800 TEAM VAL for info from valvoline.

Any reason this won't work in my zero turn mower with the kawasaki fr651v motor? this is the cheapest 20w50 out there.

if your motor calls for 20-50 oil it will work. 4 stroke Oil is oil All of what's out there comes from the same refining process with the same additives
